The chair “Spring” was created by the Art Club at Dover High School in Dover, Delaware. There were seven students and one advisor that worked on the project representing the Capital School District. Mrs. MaryJane Long is the art teacher at Dover High and the Art Club’s advisor. She has been teaching for 15 years and just recently starting teacher high school. Mrs. Long was the Delaware Art Teacher of the Year for 2016. She currently resides in Middletown, DE.
Alexis Havel is 15 years old and lives in MaryDel, DE. She had a sculpture shown in the Biggs Museum of American Art and likes to create digital artwork in her free time.
Madeleine Jackson of Hartly, DE is also 15 years old and has had artwork shown at the Biggs Museum. Madeline really enjoys listening to classic rock music.
Jayla Williams is 15 and lives in Dover, DE and has participated in two art shows so far in her school career and she was been painting since she was in preschool.
Tabitha Seeney is 16 years old and currently lives in Dover, DE also received the Mayor’s Choice Award this past fall. She has participated in many events with art club this year and had a great grandfather that was an artist.
Hannah Young, also 16 years old, has excelled at experimenting with acrylic paint and gesture drawing. She loves to paint flowers and insects with watercolor.
The Dover High School Art Club thanks Mr. Nobling for including us in this project and giving us a chance to create positive change for families in Delaware.
